The Law Library

 

“A legal expert is incomplete without an intensive library, the college has provided to the students a library, which is a treasure-house of legal knowledge and learning centre."

             The library is veritable mine of case law, both Indian and the English and Common Wealth Law Courts. The library has over 4684 volumes, some of them are rare volumes, worth over Rs.28 lakhs covering Indian and foreign publications. New volumes are added from time to time.

The library has a very good collection of classics of law including modern collection in the form of CDs and DVDs etc. The Foreign Texts, Reports, Treatises, include English and Empire digests, Halsbury’s Laws of England, English reports, Common Wealth Law Reports, U.S.Supreme Court Reports and All England Reports from 1558 to date. The Foreign Journals include Law Reports (ICLR), Harvard Law Review ,International Journal of Law and Social Science and Staff &Educational Development International.

Among the Indian publications are Indian Law Reports, All India Reporter (1950 to date), Halsbury’s Laws of India (complete set), Supreme Court Cases from 1969, Supreme Court Weekly from 1993, Supreme Court Journal,Accidents Claims Journal, Indian Bar Review, Annual Survey of India published by Indian Law Institute,Karnataka State Law University, Cochin University Law Review and Nirma University Law. The state publications like Andhra Pradesh Law Journal, Andhra Law Times and Andhra Legal Decisions are also available to students. Legal Magazines like Lawz,Lawyers update, The Practical Lawyer, Legal News and Views,Social Action,Womens Link and Womens era are available.

The library has also a good collection of complete sets of rare Journals of Madras Law Journal, Tax Reports, Election Law Reports, Central and State Manuals with Notifications, 50 Years Digest, 25 Years Digest, 15 Years Digest, Decennial Digest, Quinquennial Digest and Yearly Digest for easy reference of cases. The Constituent Assembly Debates provide an insight into the constitution making for students of Constitutional Law and researchers in the field. The library has 2400 text books, 4090 reference books, Classics, Treatises, 3400 Journals and Reports, besides the books of other categories.

 A well equipped Computer lab with internet facility and with a huge collection of CDs and DVDs  for providing practical training in using modern technology in Legal Profession and Law Office management to enable the student to be a nitigen and information is imparted on every topic of Legal subjects prescribed that help ultimately for globalization and Legal Process Outsourcing.  CDs and DVDs collection includes the set of 170 reports of the Law Commission of India , Supreme Court Cases from 1950-2000, Company Law Cases, Labour Law Cases, Consumer Reports, Direct Taxes and Statutes of India , Annual Survey of India, Journal of Indian Law Institute, Environmental law cases and  Office Management etc. Students can also refer online journals in the Lab.

 This collection of Books, Jounals and CDs is very useful for researchers also. Library is having a spacious reading room and home lending facility.

 

Moot Court Hall

The College consists of a well-equipped Moot-Court Hall inaugurated by Alladi  Kuppu Swamy garu , for conducting Moot-Court competitions.
